A Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD or RDN) is a licensed healthcare professional regulated by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. To obtain these credentials, a Registered Dietitian must earn a college degree, complete a supervised internship, and pass a national exam. To maintain credentials, a Registered Dietitian is held to ongoing professional development and continuing education requirements, including specific education focused on ethics. The title of “nutritionist” is commonly used; however, this title is not held to the same standards required by accredited colleges and regulatory bodies.
I am considered out of network with insurance, meaning I do not currently contract with any insurance companies. If you have a PPO plan, I can provide you with a superbill. A superbill is an itemized receipt that includes procedural and diagnostic codes, which you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Out-of-pocket payment is due at the time of each session.
Currently, I provide nutrition services via telehealth to individuals residing in California, Arizona, Colorado, and Virginia. In the near future, I will also be able to offer telehealth services to those residing in Illinois. In-person visits are available to California residents only. Please note that my office is located in San Diego, CA.
The state of California requires a doctor’s referral for a client to establish care with a dietitian. The good news is that you only need one! If you do not reside in California, a doctor’s referral is not required at this time
You may cancel or reschedule your appointment up to 24 hours in advance by phone or email. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged a $75 fee.
No-show appointments will be charged the full amount for the session. I understand that sometimes there are emergencies and take this into consideration for each specific case.
Please send an email to lindsey@lindseyuckinutrition.com and I will contact you with a referral form.
I understand that life happens and you may occasionally run late. In order to provide the best care to my patients, appointments will need to be rescheduled if you are more than 20 minutes late, and a late fee of $75 will be charged. Most days, I am unable to accommodate significant same-day schedule changes due to other clients being scheduled; however, I am always flexible and will do my best to see you as soon as possible.
